Bazi, also known as the Four Pillars of Destiny, is remarkably similar in structure to astrology. It is calculated based on a person’s birth year, month, day, and hour, forming four pairs of characters—each made of a Heavenly Stem and an Earthly Branch.

These eight characters together form your Bazi, and they are each associated with one of the five natural elements:

Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal, and Water.

The elements exist in a dynamic relationship:

If one element is weak, others are needed to nourish it. If one becomes too strong, others must step in to regulate.
